The key rule to any true sales professional is You must first develop the characteristic of great courage. That trait can be expressed in multiple ways. It takes great courage to earn one's income purely from sales commissions.
Compensation by commission only suggests that the sales professional operates almost independently of a sales manager's mandates. You can win by setting these standards for yourself:
1. Office Hours
2. Call Plan
3. Prospecting Hours
4. Time Blocking
Courage is especially necessary in selling to the affluent. Sales Pro's with considerable courage demonstrate this characteristic in their prospecting efforts. You must be bold enough to ask the really important question:
"Will You do business with me?" Courage also means being able to call yet another prospect after having been turned down by the last 100 prospects. You must keep with it by applying discipline, focus, and perseverance to build your million dollar rolodex. Keep in mind mast majority of the people who market to the affluent are completely self-made successes and the affluent respect that because it reminds them of when they first got started. We can either be ordinary or extraordinary. I don't know about you but given the choice I am shooting for the top notch sales professional. Will you join me there?
